We are grateful to them all for their support.
Here are some of our charity’s celebrity supporters:
Marcus Trescothick: our patron
Think Amy’s patron is Marcus Trescothick, Somerset CC captain and ex-England cricket Vice Captain.
Marcus has supported Think Amy from its early days, from donating signed goods to raffle or auction to help raise funds for the campaign, to making personal appearances at fundraising events.
Speaking about his support for the campaign, Marcus has said:
“I’m delighted to be involved with Jane and the Think Amy campaign. Think Amy does a great job at creating awareness for all road users to try and make the roads a safer place for us all.
I believe it would be a great initiative to be able to roll this out to more people across the country to get people to think about how we use the roads and to prevent more tragic accidents that we see. We must all do more to try and help.”
Speaking about Marcus’ support for Think Amy, Jane Hofmeister said:
“I was delighted when Somerset CC Captain Marcus Trescothick, together with Somerset CC, agreed to fully support the Think Amy campaign when I first set it up in 2011. When Think Amy achieved charitable status in April 2014 there was no doubt that we wanted to ask Marcus to be the charity’s patron and so pleased that he agreed.
So generous with his time, Marcus has made personal appearances at the two ‘Run for Amy’ events in 2011 and 2012, posing for photos and signing autographs. At the 2012 event, despite a painful ankle injury, he agreed to attend and gave people an opportunity to have a bowl at him. What a trooper!
He also came along to a fund-raiser at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club in November 2011, drawing the raffle for us, and has come along to lend his support at various other events.
His understanding, support and now friendship, have been of enormous help and comfort to myself, Ben and the rest of the family. We are so grateful for all that he has done.”
Likewise, Somerset CC have been so generous in their support of both the family and the campaign, including donating many wonderful raffle prizes to assist our fundraising efforts.
Sir Michael Parkinson
Speaking about Sir Michael’s support for the charity, Jane Hofmeister said:
“I am thrilled that Sir Michael Parkinson has given his support to Think Amy.
He very kindly donated a number of signed items for us to raffle or auction to help raise funds for our charity. I value and appreciate his generosity and support.”
Dame Judi Dench
Speaking about Dame Judi’s support for the charity, Jane Hofmeister said:
“I am so pleased that Dame Judi Dench agreed to add her name to our growing list of supporters.
It is so gratifying to know that she recognises the value of what Think Amy has been set up to do.”
Speaking about Peter’s support for the charity, Jane Hofmeister said:
“I am grateful to Peter Andre and his management company, Can Associates, for their support.
Always a pleasure to deal with and generous in providing signed photos of Peter to assist our fundraising.
I was also pleases to have the support of Peter’s brother, Michael Andre. A regular visitor to Taunton, I was delighted to have the pleasure of meeting Michael, when he was appearing as guest DJ, to talk to him about the charity.”
Speaking about Gordon’s support for the charity, Jane Hofmeister said:
“I am delighted that Gordon Ramsay has joined the growing number of people who support Think Amy.
I am so grateful for his kindness and generosity in donating signed items for us to raffle to help raise funds for our campaign and to support local causes.”
