I am delighted that on 3 April 2014 Think Amy was registered as a charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (reg.d number 1156530)

The charity’s purposes are:

1. To advance road safety for the public benefit in particular by:

(i) raising public awareness of the consequences of driving dangerously

(ii) encouraging drivers (especially new and young drivers) to drive safely by thinking about their responsibilities as drivers: to themselves, their passengers and other road users

2. For general charitable purposes for the benefit of people living in Taunton as the trustees shall think fit, with a preference for purposes that assist children and young people

Now that the charitable status of Think Amy has been recognised, I and the rest of Think Amy‘s Board of Trustees can now focus on securing longer-term funding for the charity so that we can take our safe driving message to a national level: to make as many drivers as possible Think Amy and drive safely.
